Mister World 2016, the 9th edition of the Mister World pageant, held at the Floral Hall of the Southport Convention Centre in Southport, England on July 19, 2016. Nicklas Pedersen from Denmark crowned his successor Rohit Khandelwal from India at the end of the event. This is the first time that India won the title of Mister World and the first Asian to win the title. Rohit Khandelwal (born 19 August 1989) is an Indian model, actor and television personality by profession. He got his first television advertisement break in a jewellery advertisement with Kareena Kapoor. Later he appeared in other advertisements too. After the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) in the UK cleared Sanjay Leela Bhansali's perfect work of art, 'Padmavati' without any cuts, the Rajput Samaj propelled a blacklist against the release of the film there. The Samaj has likewise supposedly kept in touch with the Board to renounce its confirmation for the film to prevent its release in Britain too.  As indicated by the reports in PTI, the Leader of the Rajput Samaj of UK, Mahendrasinh Jadeja, was purportedly of the view that the film 'Padmavati' mutilates their history, culture, and conventions. Million Dollar moment for Manushi Chillar || Miss World 2017

Ms Chhillar, a 20-year-old from Haryana, studied in St. Thomas School in New Delhi and Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Sonepat. Ms Chhillar aims to be a cardiac surgeon and has plans of opening non-profit hospitals in rural areas. Before announcing the winner for this year's Miss World pageant, that was being held in China, the top five contestants had to go through the customary round of questions that finally decided their fate. The win comes 17 The win comes 17 years after Priyanka Chopra brought home the coveted title in the year 2000. Around 108 women from across the world participated in the beauty pageant. Manushi had made it to the top 5 along with contestants from England, France, Kenya and Mexico.  The winner of last year's title, Puerto Rico's Stephanie Del Valle passed on her crown to Ms Chhillar. Delhi University's Dyal Singh Evening College renamed as 'Vande Mataram Mahavidyalaya'

The Governing Body of DSC has passed a resolution to change the name of the erstwhile evening college to 'Vande Mataram '.  It has also been decided to make the former evening college a regular shift one, and both the colleges will be functioning from the same campus simultaneously. T he General Body passed the decision on making the evening shift as regular college. It has been renamed as Vande Mataram College. This step will help all the students in the evening shift,” Amitabh Singh, chairman of the general body told Hindustan Times. The college's principal said that the name was an inspiration for many during freedom struggle and hence it will inspire the students.
