Delhi University Placements


The University of Delhi is the premier university of the country and is known for its high standards in teaching and research and attracts eminent scholars to its faculty. It was established in 1922 as a unitary, teaching and residential university by an Act of the then Central Legislative Assembly. The President of India is the Visitor, the Vice President is the Chancellor and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India is the Pro-Chancellor of the University.



Delhi University was ranked as number the number one university in India in terms of “Employee Reputation” by QS World University Rankings. As part of our annual round up series, DU Refresh News takes a look at some college placements across the University for this academic session:



  • St. Stephen’s College
The Campus Placement Cell of St. Stephen’s College is a student-run cell which is responsible for handling all aspects of placements and internships in the college. It is associated with 30 companies, including 4 new.
The placement season of 2015-16 saw over 80 recruiters visiting campus, the average paypackage was around 6-8 lakhs, the highest pay offered was 29 lakhs p.a.

  • Lady Sri Ram College
LSR is one the prestigious colleges in DU known for its social sciences, humanities and commerce. The institute have been receiving highest salaried packages with around Rs 12 to Rs 14 lakh last year.
With more than 100 companies associated, with 15 new ones, 116 students were placed on an average pay package of 6 lakhs p.a. B.Com saw the most number of placements.
  • Shri Ram college of Commerce
The Placement Cell made surpassing achievements during the academic year 2015-16 with 676 students recording registration and 304 getting successful placements of their choice.
Associated with 50 companies, including 18 new ones, 330 out of 450 students were successfully placed. The average pay package was in the range of 6-6.5 lakhs per annum.
  • Indraprastha College for Women
IPCW associated with 40-50 companies, out of which 20 were new. 30 out of 80 candidates were placed, with International Business Machines (IBM) recruiting the maximum number.
